New Year's Eve in Dubai is a city-wide celebration — but the best view is from the water. Chartering a yacht on 31 December gives you an uninterrupted, unobstructed sightline of the Burj Khalifa and Atlantis fireworks, served with champagne and zero pavement crowds. Here's how to plan it.
Book 8 weeks in advance
New Year's Eve is the single most-booked night of the year in Dubai Marina. Our 56-foot, 70-foot and 85-foot yachts sell out by early November every year. Lock your yacht and date at least two months ahead.
Pick the right yacht for fireworks
You need a yacht with a big open fly deck — sightlines to both the Burj Khalifa (12 km inland) and the Atlantis/Palm fireworks. The 65-foot and above have the best upper decks. The 150-foot has bleacher-style seating upstairs.
Choose your anchor spot carefully
Best positions: offshore from Bluewaters Island (Burj Khalifa visible, Ain Dubai lit), or offshore from the Palm tip (Atlantis fireworks right overhead). Don't anchor too close to the crowd — sound carries better at 800m than at 100m.
Catering and drinks
Most NYE charters include a 5-course dinner, unlimited premium drinks, midnight champagne toast and a custom cake at 00:00. Budget AED 650–950 per guest for food and beverage, on top of the yacht rental.
Timing
- 21:00 — boarding, welcome champagne
- 21:30 — depart, cruise past Ain Dubai light show
- 22:00 — anchor at preferred spot, dinner service
- 23:30 — DJ set begins, countdown prep
- 23:59 — champagne pop, fireworks!
- 00:30 — cake cutting, slow cruise back
- 01:30 — disembark
What to wear
Cold weather is possible (15–18°C at midnight in December). Dress code is typically smart-casual — nobody wears heels on a yacht, but nice shoes are expected.
